So great to see Brian Ulrich’s new Aperture monograph; Is This Place Great Or What, his decade-long work on American consumer culture.
I had the great honor of tagging along on some of Brian’s Dark Stores shoots in Michigan, almost getting him kicked out of malls because of my own conspicuousness, watching his back while he was under the dark cloth in the middle of the night in Detroit, etc.
It was awesome to watch him create this work, and even better to now see it all in such a great book.
