Looks like Google is taking one big step closer to brain domination. They’ll soon be launching Knol, their response to Wikipedia. It seems one major focus is on source accountability; authors will get full-on profiles and ratings on their contributions.
There’s also a form of revenue sharing: “If an author chooses to include ads, Google will provide the author with substantial revenue share from the proceeds of those ads.”
Given that I’m sure Knol entries will be given top tier spots on Google search results, this could be a serious thorn in the side of Wikipedia.
