PTRBKR

Designer, developer and photographer in Michigan, doing what (little) I can to help it recover its former glory. I run my own design company, Elevated Works, my photography is at peterbaker.net, and my (just photos) photoblog is treemeat.com.

Imaging the Future at Gallery ProjectMay 5 through June 13, 2010. Opening reception Friday, May 7, 6-9pm
Gallery Project presents Imaging the Future, a multimedia exhibit in which 31 artists, architects, engineers, scientists, and fashion designers attempt to visualize what life in the future will be like. Depending on one’s vision and vantage point, questions about the future may activate anxiety, fear, cynicism and dark visions. Or they may mobilize a sense of hope and promise, idealism and utopian imaginings. This exhibition challenges each artist to pose a question about the future and to image a response.
Exhibitors include Heather Accurso, Architecture Research Office (NYC), Peter Baker, Sarah Buckius, Rocco DePietro, d’Ann de Simone, Kristine Diven, Fred Dyer, John Ganis, Xia Gao, John Hart, Mark Hereld, Nicole Jacquard, Andrew Jones, Addie Langford, Lois Lovejoy, Paul Marquardt, Leslie Mutchler, Brian Nelson, Gloria Pritschet, Jordan Ross Patchak, Meghan Reynard, David Rueter, Daniel Sauter, Bethany Shorb, Alex Sobolev, Nick Sousanis , R. Justin Stewart, Corine Vermeulen, Valerie Wahna, and Michael Yun. (Image by John Hart, Nanotechnology, digital photograph.)
